A stings

I notice that when fretting particularly the 'A' strings with my left hand on my mamdolin, they seem to push together. But the same strings are not together where I strum them with the pick.
Is this normal?

Try looking at your left hand technique. If your finger contacts the strings at an angle, it can push/pull your strings together.
