I just sent a check for the White Dove A that is in the Classifieds. Pete Hutchinson seems like a simply wonderful guy. I am excited. Anybody have any experiences with White Dove and Pete, I would love to hear them. MAS strike again and an A again.

That's a good looking mandolin at a good price. Looking forward to hearing your review and maybe some brighter photos when you get it, Tony.

I see it has the longer neck scale than most ovals. Anybody have any input on sound comparisons between the 2 styles of ovals?
I have played that "A" and one of Pete's "F" models too. Pete is a good guy, he and I share building tips and visit each others shops.
You can buy with confidence.

Dave, If you don't mind, what was your impression tonewise of the A and the F while you're at it? Thanks in advance.

Pete called and said that the Dove has wings and is on the way by UPS, maybe by Friday.

A friend of mine played that mando and an F model also... He liked it so much he ordered an F model from him. but he kept talking about that A... He said Pete did great work at a great price... My friend hopes to have his ready next month. I believe thats three months from when he ordered...
I think you made a great buy... Good luck. Maybe you can post some sound clips later... I'll be waiting...

I was the guy that played that A you just bought. I had one of the richest bottoms that I had ever played, this is one fine instrument. the tone is rich and workmanship is great. The pictures on his website just dosn't do it justice. The Checkered Herringbone binding along with the Crushed tourquoise inlay around the oval just set this mandolin apart. Not tho Mention the Mother of Pearl feather on the head.
I have also heard his F and I'm having one built as we speak. Davey Waller, the mandolin player for the Marksmen Quartet, plays one of Pete's Mandolins, and it also has a great sound. I don't think you'll be dissappointed with this one. I will also tell you that you are dealing with one fine fella too. Hope you enjoy this mandolin.

Hi Tony. I am David Waller and I play Mandolin for the Marksmen. I own a White Dove F and it's the only mandolin I ever play. I love the deep low end tone it has and it sounds great for live performance or recording. Pete is definetely a great guy and I know you will be happy with all of your dealings with him. I have also seen and played the A you just bought. It is absolutely beautiful and sounds great. I'm sure you will enjoy it.
