For anyone in the Boston area...

Mike Marshall, Alex Hargreaves and Paul Kowert will be performing at
Club Passim on Saturday, Sept 8 for one show, at 7pm. A second show
will be added, if the first one sells out, which is likely. Seating is limited.
This should be a very cool show. Please contact the club for more info.

I thought it was supposed to be Marshall and Anger on that date? On the site it showed two shows, one at 7pm and one at 10pm. Either way, it's very exciting! http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Yes... Darol could not do the date, so Mike will now have Alex and Paul with him,
which should be incredible. They'll keep the second show, if it looks like the first one will sell out. Mike will do a workshop the next day.

The workshop will be at the music school, which is in the same building,
I believe.

I am interested in this workshop so I went to the Club Passim website looking for registration info. Could not find any. Searched all over the site.
Does anyone have a link or more information about this workshop?
Thanks in advance...

The person at Passim who is in charge of workshops is on vacation until
Aug 29, but I can tell you that the class will be from 1-4pm. I bet if you
call them, they'll be able to register you. I don't know how many people
have signed up yet, but the class size is limited to 20. Also, we're hoping
that Alex can teach the fiddle workshop, in Darol's place... in case anyone
here is interested in that.

Thank you, Maria. I did just that: I called the music school and enrolled in that class. It is limited to 20 participants, and costs $80. I am so excited!

I wonder if mike would sign my mandolin...hmmm.

I haven't been able to find how to register for the Mike Marshall workshop. Are there any spots still available? Where can I call to register?

Looks like the workshop is the next day with details to be announced later. Check Mike's web page.

For those who haven't heard of him, Alex is from Oregon and is 15 years old. He is the current National Fiddle Champ, He is an amazing player, probably the best young player I've ever heard. Everything he plays is just right for the setting, a wonderful improvisor! Go see him as well as Mike.

What a fantastic concert! Mike Marshall and Alex and Paul played together as if they had been together for years. It was a real treat. Alex is one of the finest violin/fiddle players that I have ever heard at any age. No matter how fast they played he kept up with apparent ease and dead-on pitch and tone. Mike had a blast and the audience did too.
