I do not have a recording of Mandolin King Rag from
David Grisman's Even Dozen Jug Band, but Mando Magazine had
16 bars per part by the Dix Bruce transcription.
Steve Parker's book has 12 bars.
Which is correct?

The old Mandolin World News transcribed the tune, I'll check and report back (unless SternART beats me to it).
