I need to make a P/G for a Gibson A-3, I have the ivoroid, but I'm not sure what to glue the pieces together with. Acetone? Or is there a glue that will do the job?
Also, I'm looking for the bracket to clamp the P/G to the side of the mandolin, does anybody have one they'd be willing to part with? Failing to find the bracket I'll engineer a way to hold it on, does anyone have any suggestions to do that?
Thanks for any help you all can give,

You can use acetone or Duco cement. There are other cements that will work too, but I'm not as familiar with them.
There's a difference in how you work with the different materials. If you use acetone, you pretty much have to fit the parts and then apply the acetone and let capilary action wick it into the joint.
With duco you can apply the cement and then assemble. You have to be pretty quick and accurate. I fine that a little acetone mixed with my duco helps it work and slows it down a little. I didn't used to do this, I think the stuff changed.
Also, there is the possibility of using cyano. (superglue)

Here is a vote for the acetone or Duco cement for gluing celluloid. CA (super glue) tends to get brittle when fully cured and can break apart, not that it will happen, but it could.
If working with acetone be prepared for it to run all over everywhere you don't want it. It takes careful planning and judicious application to make a neat job of it.

Thanks for the advice, duco sounds like the way I'll go.
