Can anyone recommend a good source with current data on vintage instrument pricing. (Gibson and Martin, mandolins and guitars in particular) Any websites or books with current sold stats would be great.

Vintage Guitar Magazine publishes a yearly price guide. They get their prices from surveying multiple dealers on SOLD prices, not asking prices. It comes out in October, in time for the Arlington, Texas, guitar show.
There is also the Blue Book, which IMHO is not as accurate because they survey asking as well as selling prices, and do not use as large a survey group.
The Blue books are more for dealers who need to show low wholesale verses retail to justify low trade-in and buying prices.
I do write a monthly column for VG, but I have nothing to do with the creation of the price guide.
