I was at the Henryville jam Saturday. This old man was there claimed he was one of Hank Williams band members and cowriter of some of Hanks songs. He looked to be well in his 80s which fits. Said he could no longer play anything but slow songs. Forgot what he said his name was but he had a well worn 52 Gibson guitar and when I sang I saw the light he had 2 or three more versus to it. Said he lives in Whitecloud Ind. I was just in awe that i got to play with a band member of a great legend! http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mandosmiley.gif

Well, it COULD be true ...
Then again, you'd be amazed at how many former rock stars you can meet, just by walking into any rescue mission carrying a guitar.

OK -- there is a Drifting Cowboys (the name of Williams' band) website, and here (http://www.angelfire.com/ny3/thedriftingcowboys/bios.html)is the "bio" page, listing all of the band members they know of. You might want to check and see if the guy you met is listed. As might be expected of a band that started in the early 1940's, there are a lot of obituaries...
