Just a heads up for those in the N. Florida area on Memorial Day weekend. Hadn't seen any mention of it. Great mando player lineup includes Mike Marshall playing w/ Darol Anger, Josh Pinkham, also worth seeing are Valla, Turner & Williamson, and others that I probably don't know about!!. Vassar Clements will also be there & I'll bet he could play a mandolin if he wanted to. Fri through Sun at Stephen Foster State Park in White Springs. Hope to see you there!

The director of the fesitval (Jon Kay) also has a reputation as a pretty fine musician himself. This festival in addition to having a great musical line up is well respected in with in the field of folklore and lists plenty to keep the rest of the family occupied while you enjoy the pickin'.

I will be there also. This is a great festival in a really beautiful setting. Bring light clothes though, this ain't Wisconsin in May.

I WENT ONE TIME WHEN BILL MONROE WAS THERE. I WISH I HAD HAD MY WIFE AND MY SQUARE DANCING SHOES ON. THEY HADA PUBLIC DANCE AND IT LOOKED FUN. I STARTED TO GRAB A GIRL AND DANCE BUT THOUGHT BETTER OF IT.
i think arlo g is there as well. and i'll be in southern florida this week- (think my wife will care if i miss the family wedding and head up?)
i did see that there is a band called grass is dead who do bg versions of dead tunes (lyrics and all) playing in the west palm beach area. so, guess i'll head over there to see em.
