I was brousing elderly.com and I came across these 2 mandolins. If you have experience in restoring and rebuilding mandolins, these might be a good buy. I would get one myself to repair, but I dont have any experience, nor would I know were to start. Just thought I would post these incase anyone was interested. They are not that expensive and if you have the ability to repair them they might be a good deal. Both have some brazilian rosewood on them which I always think is nice. Let me know what you think. I am looking to buy a bowl-back mandolin so if anyone has anysuggestions on what I should look for send me a reply. Peace.

Lots of discussions about bowlbacks in the classical section. Also check out this thread: Post a Picture of Your Bowlback (http://www.mandolincafe.net/cgi-bin/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=15;t=14185;hl=bowlback).

The Yale looks like a lower-end Lyon & Healy product; the other, who knows. Both need extensive work and you can prob buy a decent one with less problems on eBay or elsewhere.

My search on eBay is: mandolin (bowl, potato, tater)

Watch for a few weeks and you can get an idea of what is out there and what prices are being paid. There are quite a few to choose from.
