Hi,
First post on here. I just purchased an Arnold Cross F-5 mandolin. Does anyone have any information on this builder? He makes a sharp looking mandolin, with extended scroll carving and center seam carving on the back. Top is Sitka spruce and a two piece high figure hard maple back. He also makes a wider body, about 21/4 inches thick. I haven't found much about him, though. Mandolin sounds great. I'll try to post photos soon.

If you're not already thinking about buying this one from George Gruhn (http://www.gruhn.com/photo/MF7258.jpg) You might ask him about them.

Many Thanks

Late reply to the thread, not sure anyone will even see this.

I played the Arnold Cross A style at Gruhn's in the fall of 2010. It is still there, now in early 2102. I may call them and make an offer. I really liked it.

FYI, Arnold Cross also wrote his autobiography. It is available on Amazon.

Looks like there are two Cross mandolins currently at Gruhns:
