Here's an announcement from the Milwaukee Mandolin Orchestra:
The new CD, "Unplugged Since 1900", is a compilation of great tunes from the American Mandolin Orchestra Era that the Milwaukee Mandolin Orchestra has been recording since 2001. Thirty-five musicians were involved in the process over the 6 years that we took to complete the project.
There are three guest musicians on the CD. Chromatic Harmonica legend, Jerry Adler, performs with the orchestra on the classic tango, "La Cumparsita.". Mandolinist Evan Marshall, is featured on two tracks, "La Tipica" on which he is backed by the entire mandolin orchestra and a romantic 19th century mandolin solo called "My Sweetheart." with piano accompaniment. Vocalist Rick Keifer performs a late 1800's ballad "In the Gloaming" with the orchestra.
The CD is available throught the Milwauke Mandolin Orchestra website www.milmando.org
