Just curious if anyone gave it a second thought about signing up for the Weber give away last Saturday? I have not signed up yet, but that's just a formality since I plan to win it. You got to have those positive vibes. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Good for you, Doug. You deserve it. I signed up, but now that I know you're already planning to win it it, I guess I'll just keep the one that I have and be content with it.

Well, I guess that means I wasted my entry, then! http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Yeah Doug. It would have been more considerate of you to let the rest of us know ahead of time you are going to win so we would not get our hopes up for nothing. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif

Man, you win that thing now and you got some 'splaining to do, as Ricky Ricardo would say!

If you'll look a bit more closely at the pix of the Weber, you'll notice that my initials are inlaid at the twelth fret and my portrait has been rendered in pearl on the truss rod cover. I'd say it's a done deal, no?

That's just great! Now Scott will toss my name out of the pool!

How did you work out your winning plan, Doug? Perhaps you could tell me who to call about that sort of thing. I've felt that I'm ready (and deserving) to win the Big Game for quite some time now. Perhaps I'm doing something wrong though, as I haven't won the millions of dollars yet. Hmm...

I missed 7/7/7, so I guess I'll wait until 7/14 to enter the drawing:
714 = 7 x 42

I just did a little additional research, and the hexidecimal number F4 = 244 in decimal format, and 244 x 3 = 732. Now if you convert 732 to a date in M/D format -- common in North America -- that would be 7/32, which equates to 8/1, the day of the drawing for an American made mandolin -- coincidence?...

"-- coincidence?... "
Nah, it's just part of Doug's Conspiracy. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

I remember in high school having a teacher state emphatically that he could show us using math that Richard Nixon was in fact a 1972 cadillac. I suspect his mathematical proof would have resembled Jim's in some ways.
