I'm curious. Do these models have a "warm, round" sound like the Gibson 'teens or are they more "punchy and focused" like the '20s snakeheads? Do they have decent volume?

I had one for a while. I can't compare it to either of the Gibson models referenced because I haven't played them, but "warm and round" describes the tone for me. It was a very nice sounding mando, but volume was definitely less than on an F-hole version. It would need to be mic'ed if you were going to try to use it in a group situation with more than one or two other instruments.
