View Full Version : Mandos at mccabe's?
It looks like I'll be in LA next weekend, and will be near McCabe's in Santa Monica. They don't list inventory on their website--has anyone been out there recently? Any mandolins or close cousins to play (or even buy)? I'd hoped to swing out to the Fret House, but doubt I'll be able to make it to Covina: too much ailing family to visit, and I can't spend that much time on the freeway. McCabe's is just a few blocks from one of those visits, though, if it's worth the look!

Last time I was there, they had 3 or 4 Collings. If you're nearby, it's worth a stop.

Haven't been for a while, but the last three times I went, I experienced poor selection, overpricing, snotty-Guitar Center-type sales people who knew little or nothing about mandolins and acted like I was really inconveniencing them with my simple questions. I vote with my wallet, and take my business elsewhere. Frank
