Well, after the first serious jam with the new Kentucky, I noticed some serious pick marks. I decided to install a guard and I am really happy with the results. I did have to get used to playing with the guard on, but it doesn't bother me now and I think it looks excellent on the mandolin. Here are the requisite pics. Sorry they're so big, but I wanted to capture the detail.
