Saw this Gitano Guitar Support (http://bigmo.com/gigusu.html) used locally on a guitar and thought it might work well on my OM and Spira mandola. I bought one and it arrived today. It does work well! Nice replacement for a strap when sitting. Takes a bunch of the weight and lessens the stress of supporting the instrument. Allows for more focus on playing.

I'd love to see something like this worked up for the comparatively shallow mandolin body.
