Hi,
I've made a couple of new bridges recently and need a tuner for intonation.
I have a Boss Chromatic Tuner but it won't catch the string sound fretted on the 12th fret of the e string. Which tuner do you guys use that is sensitive enough to catch the fretted 12th and the harmonic?

Just buy one of those little clip-on tuner pickup for it. You plug your tuner into it and then clip it onto one of the tuners. It should solve all your issues for about $15.

They work great at jams and such where everyone is noodling around between songs and you can't hear your self think much less your tuner hearing your mando.

Cheers,
Pete

The "intellitouch tuner" is the best that I've found. Great for tuning and bridge intonation. It works as well in a loud jam as it does at home. The great thing about the tuner is that when you are at a jam or a gig, you can leave the tuner on your headstock and watch it as you play. Buy one!

The Peterson has the best display,(parts of Hz'cents') now a LCD version of the original spinning strobe lit disc.
Recently offer a stomp pedal version.
The piezo clip is a banjolin nessisity, all those overtones confuses my Intellitouch.

I have several tuners, including an Intellitouch. I love that model for performance, but I am not wild about it for intonation setting. It is just not accurate enough to suit me. I much prefer the Sieko. It is very sensitive and consistent and has a digial readout down to the cents. I agree with the others that you need some sort of a contact pickup for setting intonation.

I also found the Intellitouch not accurate enough.......I thought it was till I got a Peterson strobe. I actually found my old Korg DT-1 to work well for this task too. I'll bet a lot of mandos out there could be set up better. IMO it really makes a BIG difference.

Peterson is probably one of, if not the best tuner. Problem is they range from $250 to $3,000 for a tuner.
