I'm using a Schertler PreAII with a Fender Accustisonic that I believe has a built in preamp.

Do you make settings and adjustments on the preamp or the amp or both?
Is there a way to bypass the preamp of the Accoustisonic?
Anyone use this combo and what are your preferred settings?

By the way I'm using a DYN-G pickup.

Thanks

Andy

No Pre-II, different amp [ so,I'm off topic,?]
I run my Dyn-M direct into the channel with the XLR input on a Roland AC60.
Its internal preamp does fine, back panel outputs would feed house board, if needed.

FWIW using 'dry' output bypasses tone control section in pre-amp2.

If your amp has an effects loop go from the Schertler pre-amp directly to the the effects return on the amp. This way you are by-passing the amp's internal pre-amp.

I'm not familiar with the Fender amp but it probably has better EQ then the PreA-II? Why not just bag the Schertler pre-amp? It' just an average quality pre-amp in my opnion anyhow.

Having two sets of EQ and gain just gets messy as suggested by your post.

Thanks Perry,

I agree. I found myself having good results going directly into the amp bypassing the preamp on the Accustasonic. But, I did find that on some other amps the preamp was actually necessary.
