5 day mandolin seminar with Seth Austen, July 26–July 30, National Guitar Summer Workshop, New Milford, CT campus. <http://www.guitarworkshop.com/>
Participants will explore repertoire from various styles including Celtic, #Appalachian, bluegrass, klezmer, Balkan, blues, jazz and classical. Possible topics to be covered include improvisation, alternate picking, tremolo, rhythmic backup techniques, scales, arpeggios and chord positions up the neck and alternate tunings. We'll also explore other members of mandolin family such as mandola, bouzouki, octave mandolin, cittern and mandocello.
