Try changing your picking angle slightly, to angle the pick downward toward the floor a bit. I love the black M150s and find them to be less clicky than most picks.

The dawg pick tends to click but this seems to diminish as it gets a bit of use, perhaps once you wear the highly polished finish off a bit i think. I didn't like them at first but I will have to eat my words and admit that i'm getting quite fond the sound..
The Wegens are top picks and I dont find they click but as Jason says, keep changing your pick angle untill you find your preference of sound.

As long as the note is louder than the clickin, (not to belittle the question, cause I'm sure your serious), you're all set.

P.S.:I found that the thinner the pick, the more the click, and the faster the break (of the pick, that is).

I can hear it anytime I play a series of notes on the ee string.

cripple creek,soldiers joy.
the angle?
you mean tilt the side not striking the string toward the floor more.

what do people think of the thicker clayton's...i love the tone of the dawg, but i think i need more of a point. i'm sure curious about those wegen's but i'm hard wired not to pay that kind of money for something that i'm pretty sure i'll lose.

I like to modify the Claytons, if I'm not using a real pick I use one of these. unless you get into the Wegens or Red Bear's, picks are the easiest and cheapest thing to experiment with

I have some Claytons, good picks. I am using the Proplec picks from Jazzmando almost exclusively now, I have more than 40 of them.

In your case, I'd also recommend the ProPlecs, as did 8ch(pl)

thanks for the heads-up on the proplecs...i drill my claytons too... i don't know why ALL triangular picks aren't full o' holes at this stage... i'm lookin forward to trying a few when I'm back stateside soon...I live in Ireland and pick variety is pretty low esp in the wild west. Irish players like em thin and cheap...picks that is

Vote for proplec here, I also like the Dunlop Ultrex 1.14, and the nylon Dunlop Big Stubby (that's the steel blue one) 3.00 (don't be put off by that number, it comes to a point). I like to rotate between them. But if I were go with just one, it would be the proplec. For those of you that prefer the guitar shaped proplec 351, Elderly has them. Jazzmando stopped carrying that one.

I really like the Dunlop 208's (http://www.elderly.com/accessories/names/dunlop-%22jd%22-jazztone-flatpick--PK208.htm). They're thick (2mm), which I really like, but they' don't click nearly as much as the Wegen's I was using. If you prefer a more rounded point, they make a 207 (http://www.elderly.com/accessories/names/dunlop-%22jd%22-jazztone-flatpick--PK207.htm) that might fit the bill. I spend a little time beveling the edges a bit, and they're great. Obviously, YMMV. At 45 cents apiece, I don't mind as much if one fall out of my pocket and gets lost. I don't dare put the Wegens, Tortis, or other high-end picks in my pocket!
