View Full Version : Another A+ Dlx done gone!
I've been jonesin' hard for a Phoenix BG since one blew me away while visiting Elderly in March. But the price is a tad outa my comfort zone, so thanks to all of you Rigel fans out there, I made a quick left turn to the A+ Dlx. Tradd at FOTW got me hooked up with a Chocolate-burst. Said it was a real looker an played it over the phone...LOUD! Now for the waiting...ewwww. Hopefully I'll have it before the weekend so I can jam with some buds on it.
Thanks all you Rigel lovers out there, you saved me some good pocket change!

Congratulations in advance! I have had an A+D as my main mando for a year and half and I am still loving it. It just seems to sound better all the time and I get lots of compliments on it. I especially like it when I run into a mando player who has not heard of Rigel and I let him play it. The reaction is always something like, "Woah! This is really easy to play and it sounds great!" One mando instructor I had, who is really conservative and plays vintage Gibsons, said, "Wow, this thing has 'bark and bite' all over the neck!" That was my favorite. Then people want the whole explination about where and how it is made and I give them the "cook's tour" of the construction and the philosphy behind it. They always seem duly amazed. Great fun!
I still get MAS really bad for other mandos (Phoenix included) but I will have to wait until I can move up without trading in my Rigel. It is a keeper! Let us know your first impressions.

Congrats on the new mando. I have been coveting a Rigel (among other mandos) for a while now. I hope she works out well for you.

Johnny,
I got it this morning! Love the action and you can play all over the neck without breakin your fingers getting there. I love that. Plus the sound and looks are the icing on the cake! I think I picked up a year's worth of pickin skill in just 2 hours of playing her. I guess the old beater with med/lights did some good for my muscles after all. I used to get worn out after playing 2 hrs straight...not anymore! Too bad I had to come back to work...
Thanks!
