Just wanted to say Hi, I love this site and have been reading daily for awhile now. I have purchased a Eastman 605 that was voodooized by Steve Perry. I will be the third owner. The last two just decided it wasn't for them. I hope to break the curse on this mando and give it my all. I am so new to the mando I don't even have it yet, but wanted to say hi to everyone and thank you for allowing newbies into your circle. I have learned alot already from you all, Thank You! I have ordered several books and Videos from Elderly that should arrive the same time and the Mandolin. My Wife plays the Banjo and my inlaws all play bluegrass instruments. I hope to be able to join in with them by the fall.
Thanks again for all your great info!

Hello and Welcome Aboard! There are several fine folks here with info, advice, tips and personal musical experiences that will steer you in the right direction with anything you need help with while learning your mandolin. Don't get discouraged during the learning process. I've been at it for twenty years and still I'm learning something new every day.
I'm sure your In Laws will be more than happy to help you along. That's pretty much how I had started out. My side of the family sang and played music but it was my In Laws that were the "Bluegrassers" and that's how I got exposed to the live pickin' very quickly.
Good luck with your musical endeavors and do chime in with a question or concern anytime! I'm sure everyone here will be more than glad to help! #http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mandosmiley.gif # http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/coffee.gif

I just ordered a 615 myself can't wait. I wish it was mandovoodoo'ed, I think i'll send it in for that and the walrus ivory upgrades in a few months. Good luck with your mandolin playing, it is the most fun i've had playing an instrument.
