I recently went to an old time music festival in Avoca, Iowa. #The circle jam I sat in with played mostly old time country. #When my first few turns came around, I played and sang some old country tunes then some old Gospel. #Then due to not knowing anyone and nerves - even though they were friendly folks - my mind started blanking out and I could not think of songs to do. #I also blanked out and could not remember the 2nd verse of Poor Wayfaing Stranger. #Oh well..
# I went home and made tiny print lists of 7 songs in each of my 3 favorite genres (Gospel, Country blues and old timey) and used masking tape to stick the lists on the backs of several instruments. #-- I'll be more ready when I go back. #Plus I will have incentive to get good at those songs. #God Bless. #Jack # http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

Great idea on the computer generated playlists. But be careful with that masking tape, some of that (less expensive) tape will leave a really bad residue on your mando. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mad.gif I had this problem with cheap nonScotch tape. Someone on the list recommended 3M special real Scotch (not Irish or welsh) tape for photocopies etc. 3M also makes a special blue masking tape that won't leave a residue.... http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mandosmiley.gif
