If you search for San and Juan (from the beginning) you will find a few threads.

I have. Bobby Wintringham can be found around the Colorado festivals. There is always a buzz of mandolin players around him. I've had a chance to touch just a few and have heard them played by folks better than me. He makes outstanding instruments and has an incredible attention to detail and workmanship. I haven't held alot of high end mandos but his look and feel like something special. He also makes a monster mandola. If I ever get good enough to justify a custom built, he will be at the very top of my list. I think he has endorsements from Drew Emmitt and Hannigan.

On another note, Bobby is a good guy. I would imagine that he would be great to work with.

I believe Anthony Hannigan of The Hickory Project (and Musicmoose.org (http://www.musicmoose.org)) plays/played on a San Juan. They are linked from the Hickory Projects site and that's what he was playing (and speaking highly of) when I met him a couple of years back at the Philly Folk Festival.
