A bid of $4000 (USD) on a nice condition 1975 Gibson F5. #Approximately $1000 more than it is actually worth?

The 70's weren't considered the golden age of Gibson mandolin production. With that said, that one on ebay looks almost brand new.

i have a 1975 F5. #within the last few years, it has really opened up an has a decent sound. most who hear it don't believe it is a '75. #also, 1975 does make it over 30 years old. #i'd sell it if i was offered 4 grand, makes me think i should list it on ebay if someone out there is willing to pay that much, it would be a nice down payment on a DMM.
