I now have a Washburn M2 which looks and feels
great but the sound is not good and it has no
volume. I'm thinking about getting a Michael Kelly?
How are they? Better than Washburn I would think.
lots of threads on mk steve. the folks who have em seem to be quite happy. do a search on this site, and you will get a ton of info.

I have a Washburn M3SW mandolin. It also seems to exhibit a strong lack of volume. I put a maple bridge on it and this seemed to have increased the volume and clarity some. I also tried an ivory/rosewood bridge which I made. This one also sounds good.
But, unfortunately even these improvements don't make it a great mandolin.
Still lacks some volume especially in the bass punch. Looks good though.
I consider it my "how to make a bad mandolin sound decent" project.
