I fell in love with the deep, rich tone of mandola last year at LoarFest. I have since had an accoustic Pomeroy made and in order to cross back and forth between my accoustic and electric, started experimenting with strings for my Schwab to play it as a mandola. I have a real preference for heavier strings and ended up with Thomastik George Benson Jazz GB112 using the .020, .028, .039 and .053. The sound is exactly what I wanted and the best my Schwab has produced.

Whoa, that's way way thick. Ya might wanna ask Mr. Schwab about that. There's no truss road in those necks.

Truss Road, that's the one that runs thru Hernia?
