I've been listening to several versions of this great waltz, with plans to add it to my performing repertoire.

The original lyrics in the version by Judith Edelman really got my attention. But it's hard to hear them on her recording, and I can't find them posted anywhere on the web. Can someone post the lyrics to her version? Or email them to me. Thanks in advance.

Midnight on the Water
Lyrics: Judith Edelman

No one was out in hour eleven
No one was watching one last moon rise
In the town they all slept undisturbed by my engines
Though I tore through the still of their midnight sky

Twenty-one years, I lied about my age.
They taught me to fly, they gave me a plane
And with my country as my witness
And my orders to obey
It was midnight on the water
When I blew that town away.

CHO:

Midnight on the water
Moon, town, sky
Midnight on the water
Goodbye.

I know that town and another just liket
I have brothers and sisters and a mother still there
In my dream they are sleeping down by the water
It's a beautiful picture from high in the air

Then I'm down in the town, calling everybody's name
No one can hear me, no one can hear the plane.
Then I wake up in a cold sweat
Every night it is the same
Midnight on the water, and I can't go home again.
