I've been out of the loop for a spell, but i see 'Rose Mandolin' is not listed anymore, nor in the eye candy. Did he quit building ?

There was a lengthy discussion a few months back envolving unanswered calls and emails and money in limbo. Do a search and it should come up.

I did a search and came up empty, anyway I'm surprised, at least with me Darby was always straight up.

You're right, Scotti. I had talked with Buddy when the issue/concerns about Darby's "Rose" mandolins was last posted. #Buddy said that his construction business has really taken off for him so he may be limited at the present time to schedule in building any more mandolins. You can always keep trying to contact him to see when he may soon have a break to start on one.
I did ask Buddy's wife if she knew whom he would recommended to take over any adjustments or repairs on any existing Davis mandolins in the event that Buddy can't do it any more and she said that he would most likely recommend Darby to handle the repairs or mandolin needs. If I'm not mistaken, Buddy taught Darby the mandolin building trade. I just hope Darby's construction business wouldn't have him too busy to schedule in any repairs if I would ever need them right away.
Although, any repairs that I would ever need to be done to a "Davis" would only be due to my own mishaps with it and not through errors on workmanship, not implying that there's been ever anything wrong with the workmanship put into any of the "Rose" mandolins. #Please, leave it at just that, folks. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mandosmiley.gif # http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/coffee.gif
