Did anyone see Barry Mitterhoff on the WoodSongs Webcast last night? He was backing up Jorma Kaulonen and David Bromberg whom both have new acoustic solo albums. Barry played both mandolin and a flat top, round back bouzouki (?Not up on all the mando cousins on sight). I thought Jorma was a little uncomfortable but David was great and Barry seemed to be having lost of fun.

very cool! Jorma's one of my favorites and Barry sound so good with him. Great watch!
Barry has been playing with Jorma ( and Jack) for a few years -
saw them at Grayfox a few years back - that new "relaxed country" style of Jorma's is his best stuff yet ( well maybe discounting QUAH) and you should have seen the cloud of smoke over the main stage.
Barry does a great job of keeping it low key when he needs to and bringing it out in front when it calls- my understanding is he is very diverse in his abilities and can play any style - but this new groove is really workin for him -
so check him out if he's at a local show.

Yeah, Quah's hard to beat, isn't it? This Woodsongs really shows Barry better than the record, IMO. He's great.
