Saw this the other week and had to learn it:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v....search= (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zyXw5_u--p8&mode=related&search=)

Try as I may I can't seem to get the "B" part or for that matter the "D" section of this tune. I can fake my way through them but I can't quite figure out what exactly Compton is doing. If I could only loop a small section of a Youtube video.

I have the Thede book; I have Compton's tab from his website but it seems basic TAB is not a good way to convey this style of Monroe playing. For me anyway.

Anybody got this figured out yet?

Thanks in advance for any help,
Perry

p.s. An Acutab book (w/ CD) of Compton's Monroe would be a welcome addition to my library!

Hey - did you figger it out? I hijacked the audio into Amazing Slow Downer a while ago so I could slow it down and figure it out. I didn't bother writing it down, but if you haven't gotten it, I could tab it out pretty quick for you, or post the audio. I took a look at the tab on Mike's site and it didn't really seem to bear much resemblance to what he was actually playing...

Lemme know,

Hi Rich

No I haven't figured it out yet; it's the B section that's really throwing me. If I had the tab for that I think I could get the D section which is very similar except for the move up to the E note.

Thanks much!

OK - here's a quick and dirty tab of it done in Tabledit. Mike adds a few odd beats here and there on the Youtube version - I made it all in 4/4. Otherwise, I think it's pretty close.

Rich

That's great. Sounds right.
Much thanks for transcribing and posting it!

Checked out your site. Robben Ford, Mike and Sam....some of my favs. That Robben Ford CD you worked on looks interesting I'll have to check that out. I'm a big fan of his guitar playing. His guitar instructional stuff is top notch too.

Robben Ford and Mike Compton...different shades of the blues
but all good

Thanks again
