Yes I agree - awesome. Skip was at a Podunk, (East Hartford) mini-festival workshop Saturday and he gave a workshop in the afternoon (awesome) and performed with Starkey at night. I bought this exact CD that day and I love it!!!!
Podunk is planning its ninth festival this summer. Check out Podunkbluegrass.com. Support this non-profit effort if you can!!!

It's got a lot of Monroe's unrecorded tunes even the really obsure "The Lloyd Loar" tune. Skip has it going on getting Monroe's sound on these tunes. Worth a spin IMO but don't go out and learn these tunes and think someone will be able to follow you in a jam session!

Yep: I got the CD; even better, I made up a CD for Skip of Monroe doing most of the tunes for him to learn. <VBG>

Good Stuff! I've got both of the Skip Gorman CD's mentioned and like them both. Also recommended are his "Rabbit in a Log" tape recordings with Rich Starkey. One is called "Feast Here Tonight" and the other is "Late Last Night." Lots of classic stuff on those.

I believe it is a monroe tune. I have a live tape of him playing it I think at Bean Blossom. May be when Baker was with him.
