Yesterday I played a Giannini Mandolin.Bandolim shape, top looks wider than it is long. Big sound! I really liked it. They have 2 from the 1980's in the shop and want $399 Canadian for each one. I think this is a good price, don't know if case is included.

Do you know which models these are?
Here are prices in USD I have found:
GBSM1:$229
GBSM3: $299
GBSM3EL: $337
GBSM5: $689
GBSM5EL: $749
The 5 is the top of the line, luthier handmade model and comes with a hard case.
I found these prices here (http://www.guitarshop.net/mandolin.htm).

Thanks for the response, I don't know what model it is, and it is about 20 years old. It has what looks like Pau ferro back and sides and a cedar top. Even with these quoted new prices, $399Canadian be a good buy here in Canada, since a new one ordered from the US is subject to duty fees because it is made in Brazil. The exchange rate is also a factor.

It was a bright sounding mandolin, typical Flat Top sound to my ear. Sort of like my M4 but a bit more volume. Although I did not let someone else play it to listen to at a distance.
