I just happened to be poking around iTunes today looking for a rendition of a tune I'm learning (Blackberry Rag, btw), and I ran across a version by The Wonderbeans, which, I only recently found, out was an Old-Time band in the 70s, featuring our own JGarber on mandolin!!! (Jim will likely jump in here if I've got this wrong, but check out the WBs!!! Absolutely WONDERFUL stuff, throughout!) http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif

That's Jim all right on the Cover of Beansprouts by the Wonderbeans. That's the same photo that he posted with the his cylinder back in your thread of woe http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif .

Listened to a couple o tracks and popped it on my Amazon wish list. I might as well support a guy who helps this community so much. I hope he still gets money from sales of these...

Thanks for the heads up Mike. Good luck on the repairs / whole situation by the way.

Jamie

Thanks, Jamie. Mr. Garber has been my guardian angel throughout this fiasco. I really was surprised to find the Wonderbeans on iTunes today, and I'm tickled to give them a little exposure here, regardless of them being defunct, at least in that form. I've got a copy of the CD on the way. I liked almost every cut. I think Jim is my new mandolin hero. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Yes, I have learned quite a few tunes from that CD. In fact I am still learning and relearning them. Someday I will get them right. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rock.gif

Anyway, thanks for the compliments. Actually, as I told Mike earlier today, Blackberry Rag is the one tune that I did not play on mandolin. Lou G who was an amazing musician played that one. Usually he played guitar and accordion in the band. All the other tunes with mandolin on that CD are my fault.
