I just saw that Mandolin Radio is back in action, hadn't seen any reference to it coming back, but I'm listening now. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

MandoZine radio has been on in my office since I discovered they left that port open http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

I would switch back & forth between the 2, before Mandolin Radio went off, the selection was always similar, but different. I'm thrilled to have the choice again! http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

I was pleased to see that Paul was able to relaunch Mandolin Radio. It's great to have a choice, and although Paul broadcasts music similar to my Mandozine Radio station, he tends to have more of a Bluegrass and Old-time focus, where I tend to program more gypsy jazz, Dawg, and European artists. There is definately an overlap, but enough variety to give listeners a broad range of mando-centric music. I greatly appreciate the listeners and have just exceeded 64,000 listener hours. Please support the artists by purchasing their music and attending their concerts.

Thanks for your efforts, John. As I stated before, I like to be able to switch between the two, though your "less Bluegrass" bent suits me a bit better. After a couple hours, the repeats kick in [this is not intended as a complaint, I realize a person can only program so much],& the choice is refreshing.

Also, I do check on some of what I hear , new to me or not; thanks for the Jacky Micaeli tunes with Patrick Vaillant(spl?). I'm awaiting delivery on 2 copies of Amor Esca; this is the most mind blowing stuff I've heard in awhile.

Thanks for listening! I set the playlist to random, and even with almost 11 hours of music, repeats happen. I could shuffle the tunes and then play the tunes alphabetically, but if you listen around the same time each day (during the three-day playlist broadcast), you will probabally start hearing the same sequence of tunes as the day before. Which is preferred? Shuffle tunes and play alphabetically (almost 11 hours with no repeats), or just let the list play randomly (no control over what is played when)?

I'm in for random. And a great set of tunes bears repeating!

I think both have benefits; probably the best way all around is to set up playlists, & go random, which I guess is what you said you do. No need to make it more difficult for you. Can it randomly sample across playlists, also? I'm missing the Amor Esca tunes, they haven't been turning up lately, & I learned after the fact that my order for them isn't expected to arrive until March 1- 14.
