They will now be informed that they have a new message.
[ Click here to return to your messenger ] Im not jjbone101...so I have no idea if my intended party even recieved my PM.

Yes, I have had similar problems, pretty much since the beginning of this version of the Board, IIRC. When you go to someone's profile, you see another version of the problem, frequently. Usually, this will be something like I am looking at the profile of JimBob, and down at the bottom it says "Sally Mae has decided to keep her email address private." Stuff like that. Strange.

It's a caching issue of certain elements of the page as it's built on the fly. This problem has pretty much existed back to 2002. About once a week I get this inquiry.

Even though it may say a different name than you intend it doesn't send to an incorrect name as PM. Best way to resolve this is to do a forced reload or refresh in your browser. Hold down the shift key on your keyboard and hit reload/refresh.

We had to rewrite the board software to cache certain pages so that it can withstand the 24 hour barrage of traffic it gets... something like 5-6 requests a second around the clock on the average. During the day when traffic is at peak that's multiplied many, many times over. Sorry for the inconvenience.

i noticed a similar deal when looking at the profiles of a couple people online one time. the 2nd profile still showed the name of the first person I was reading or something like that. It was a little confusing.

It also manifests on the search page. I will often see someone else's 'you last searched for' info at the top of the page. A little disturbing. But if I have to pick a problem, I'd prefer it look wrong and work right like it does rather than the other way around.

Yup, it corrected at some point. I'm sure it's connected in some way to the other buffer value weirdnesses mentioned here.

today I send a pm to Mike and as I did receive a response I know it was send. Nevertheless if I go to My Messenger and click the Send Items there is nothing listed.

Well not a real problem but I was wondering if that is standard or if I am doing something wrong.

Thanks,René
