While I'm blown away by the speed and accuracy of Andy Statman's playing, no surprise, its his waltzes that seem to capture my imagination. The Sensitive Waltz is really a beautiful piece of work, and really like where he takes it within a BG framework. I have literally spent months (as a relative beginner)studying the Land Epic Waltz for mando nuance, and I play it pretty well at this stage, yet when I turn it on, it always sounds like a different song (and it wasn't my tuning). I'm not expecting to sound like him any time soon, but I notice things I hadn't in his play. He's got a lot of cool tricks in that bag of his, and a great staight-away right hand to support them! (Tried but couldn't find the existing discussion.)
