Some were commenting on how the old $100 mando sounded on a version of Sullivan's Holler I put up, so I put up 2 more Mississippi tunes in addition to the Sullivan's Hollow: #Vicksburg Stomp; Tombigbee Waltz. #Recorded in my basement on the stock stuff that came w/the computer.

AcousticFriends web site (http://www.acousticfriends.com) #Then do a search for me: #David M D35 #The sound files are down at the bottom of my profile page under "My Music" section.

Far from perfect playing, but it gives you the way this old inexpensive mando sounds. #Kinda nice for the old time tunes. #There are some issues up the neck, though...

I recorded these to send to the fellow I bought it from who is down in Vicksburg, MS (I used to live there, too..) and he said his daddy used to play this old mando and it had been under a bed since '64 when he died. #What else to play on a Vicksburg mandolin but Mississippi tunes?...

you'll need to sign up as a "artist" or "band" to upload your songs...easy process tho.

I like the sound of your Kay

But it isn´t one of those 1960´s plywood constructions right ?
I think in the 1930s Kay made solid wood mandolins http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rock.gif

Bluesmandolinman, you're right. #lam sides/back (at least from what I can tell), but solid, arched top w/those 3 piece F holes.

Image attached of the one I currently have and recorded these on.

Just won another one on that auction place today for $51. #wonder how it'll sound when i get it ... #http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
