I'll probably drive down from Idaho to be there a few days, like Thurs. or Fri,. I won't be having a booth this year, not enough time to really stay there and tend one. I would love to meet some Mandolin Cafe people though and do some chat, like put faces with names? ....... see ya then

We will be staying Wednesday evening thru Sunday. Had a great time last year, meet so many nice folks and played some wonderful instruments. Had never played a Loar before and playing a dozen of them was quite cool along with the old Gibson As and F4s I sampled. Mr. Brentrup's F4 was amazing and the Smart mandolas were super. Mike Compton's workshop was worth the entire cost of the weekend and then there was the 'crazy' good "Wilders" and yet another opportunity to hear Doyle and Quicksilver and the Cherryholmes for the first time. Sure was a shame my wife and I had such a rotten time. Be there with bells on!

I'll be there Thursday-Saturday. Looking forward to meeting fellow Mandolin Cafe members!

My mother and grand parents live in Tehachapi (about an hour away from Bakersfield), so this trip serves 2 purposes! I really wanted to go last year, but wasn't able to.

I'll be there Fri-Sun. Last year was a blast, and met a bunch of nice people. Probably won't make it in to see the bands if it's like last year, too much pickin'. c'ya!

Well, shall we all wear carnations in our lapels, or will Café stickers on out instrument cases suffice? http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

For anyone still on the fence about coming out, there should be some really good roundtrip airfare deals in and out Bakersfield this time of the year and there are still plenty of hotel rooms around town. The Doubletree is providing a couple of shuttle runs/day to the convention center and they also do a shuttle to and from the airport.
