View Full Version : Nugget mandolins on mandolin cafe
I hope no one takes this the wrong way. I think this is the best web site there is for any musical instrument and is the first place I log into when ever I sit down at the computer. #I was just looking at the link to Nugget Mandolins on this site and it only gives you these half pictures and other full pictures that look like they were taken 30 feet away. Pictures are dark and can't really see the instruments. I know I shouldn't complain cause I'll never be able to afford one unless I won the lottery. #But if I could ,I would at least want to see some real detailed, upclose in your face pictures of them. Next best thing to being able to hold one. I'm sorry if I've affended anyone, I know a lot of hard work went into getting what pictures are on there.

Here are some nice pics of a Nugget for sell at Cotten:

Scroll down to mandos for sale and take a look.
I've only been around 4-5 Nuggets. All were outstanding in workmanship/volume/tone.

gwalt, like you, I am sensitive about what I say, always trying to be a nice guy. That said, I have to chuckle at your tiptoeing, apologetic tone, knowing that you are from Minnesota. Reminds me of the Minnesotan language skits on Prairie Home Companion! http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

gwalt,
P.S. I hope i didn't offend you.
That's why they call it "Minnesota nice."

By the way, gwalt, I live 1/2 hour from Mike Kemnitzer's shop. I don't know if he is open to visitors, but I hope to get a tour...
I've pretty much made up my mind to commission Andy Poe on an A-model, since I can't afford a Nugget. The next hurdle is to get my wife to agree. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

Don't do what I did! My wife found out when she delievered my Poe. She's our mail carrier. Was not a happy home for quite some time.

I agree. Nuggets deserve better pics. Something along that lines of this one (Roman Numerals Nugget @ Frets.com Museum) (http://frets.com/FRETSPages/Museum/Mandolin/Nugget/roman.html). To me, this one is without a doubt the most beautiful modern mandolin ever made. I LOVE IT!

lol, that's funny. I took your advice and asked for my wife's blessing and she said to go for it! So I did! Put my order in today. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mandosmiley.gif
Thanks everybody for the links to the Nuggets. #These pictures will keep me drooling for awhile.
Steve-o,
#Andy will treat you right. #Post pictures as you get them. #Someday soon somebody will be looking for the "Poe" section in the mandolin archive. Wishing they could afford one.:p
