This may be a re-post (I did search) but I love it when he starts with "Give it up for all the Mandolin players in the house"...

Actually quite a message if you listen to his lyrics about how the mental, physical and spiritual health of the world is connected to daily music making.

I got a little nervous when his mandolin started to slide off of his lap!

I saw Joe Craven for the first time, at MerleFest last year. He was one of the participants in Mandomania, and gave a stunning account of himself. As has been stated, he can make music come out of anything. He produced notes from his mandolin that were not built into mine!

If you ever have a chance to attend one of his rhythym workshops I'd highly recommend it, helped out my playing a lot. He took a lot of time with my then 7 year old on his washtub bass. The man is incredible, he can make sound come out of anything.

BTW, he was playing a high-end Kentucky at the workshop I attended, a KM-1500 I think.

Awesome!
His positive energy seems enough to deflect small meteors from colliding with the earth.
I think I need to play this at least once a day from now on.
Thanks!!

Check out his CD: Django Latino. No hip hop, but great gypsy mandolin.
