Howdy folks,

I'm new to the forum and wanted to say hello and ask your help with the Drew Emmitt penned song "Get me outta this city". It goes back to the Left Hand String Band days but LOS played it a bunch and I think he still plays it in the the DEB. Any help with chords and/or tabs is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Kevin

I have this on a Left Hand String Band CD at home, but I'm at work right now. I'll try to get the chords tonight and try to post them later. And welcome to the Cafe!

Kevin...this is the best I could come up with on the spur of the moment...

A brief D/A intro then

Well there's (D) so many people
Rushin' every(A)where
'Bout to (D) run each other over
To be the first one (A) there
(Em)Air's so thick and heavy
It's hard for me to (G or Bm)breath
I (E) cleared the road ahead
It's (G)time for (D)me to (A) leave

Get me (G) outta this city
Take me back where I be(A)long
Get me (G) outta this city
(D)I've been (E) gone too (A)long

Hopes this helps. I'm more of a play-by-ear guy, so you may here a minor chord where I've got a major but this should be a start. I love jamming along to this tune.
