Was involved in a local festival today (couldn't get to Mandofest), so am interested, as I'm sure many others are.
This little festival was great - several mandolins, One standout was Micah, a Rabbi who rocked. Think Krishna Das in Hebrew.
When I think about it all, it was a wild potpouri - Mayday with a farm community, Mummers play, maypole dancing to Cajun (Hero Two-Step with my Cajun band accordianist, Linda, and our friend, Eric. on a National 6-string). Micah's very Hebrew set, and even a mandolin/mandola player who serves on the HMS Bounty leading us in a wild ride of sea songs. "Way haul away...." We got to dig deep in our folk-psyches for these (singalongs).
I had a wicked good day - played the A, F, and resonator. Was Jester in the play and ran sound for post play music.. Played the blues with my old buddy Gabe (5 string guitar - mandola with a bass string) to kick off the sound stage and went into the audience and did a 'Dick Dale walk thru' with the F to end the afternoon - a sweet Roger Miller tune. (Yes, he had some.) Jams after evening meal were amazing - whole new set of people and we found extra energy. Closed with "Crazy" ( and that lovely Cmaj7) in honor of Willie - his birthday was yesterday.
So let's have a Mandofest report.

Are you looking for mystical predictive reports?

Whoops, got excited too soon.
Glad to know I still might be able to get there.
With the shortage of event publicity data (even tho the informative link), I was obviously in the dark. Fool that I am. Rushing to New Posts is not the best strategy to keep abreast of events on the Cafe home page.
But please do post next week for those that can't get there!!!
