Today my G strings started to buzz a bit. It sounds like it's comming from the bridge, but I'm not certain.

Been playing alot for the last month, my 1st mandolin, a Michael Kelly Legacy Plus. Haven't changed strings, but it has "opened up" alot the last 2 weeks, until this new buzz.

Any suggestions?

P.S. I'm petrified to mess with this myself too much. It's my first acustic instrument. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rock.gif

See frets.com, specifically, THIS (http://frets.com/FRETSPages/Luthier/Technique/Setup/BuzzDiagnosis/buzzintro.html) page. It's not that big a deal to make small adjustments, so relax.

After you find the offending componant, hit it with a hammer. That'll learn it!

Sounds like it is settling in and you just need to raise the bass end of the bridge a turn or two. Strings too light another problem. Go to heavier guage on the G string.

It's also probably worth while to check the relative humidity of where you keep your instrument. Not sure where you live but here in the North East RH can wreak havok with acoustic instruments...especially in the winter.

Shoot for 50% RH and you should be good to go! ;)
