Just out of curiosity, what sound or tonal difference do you get out of the oval hole as opposed to the 'F' style holes?

MandopLucker/Shayne - thanks for the great 'review.' # While I'm kind of partial to Ken & Laura Ratcliff's Silver Angel mandolins, I've followed Gail's efforts closely as I think she and Laura Ratcliff are about the only prominent women luthiers around. # #I've experienced Laura's A-style mandolins first-hand, as well as an R-2 she had some influence on, and they're top-notch. #Thus I've been curious as to Gail's efforts as well. #
I do indeed love that F-4 oval hole!
Thanks again for the review, and Gail - keep up the great work! #http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
Merry Christmas to you and yours!

What's the asking price on that one? Is it still "spoken for"?
Gail, do you build mandos with radiused fretboards?

I too have been following Gails work, and I love it. She has great taste and her attention to traditonal details is some of the best out there.

I'm also curious about the price (though unfortunately I'm in no position at the moment to buy anything)...That F4 is serriously making me drool. After I get a tenor guitar and a tenor banjo, I think an oval hole will be next. It will be a few years before I have the dough for all that, but I can still dream. Ah well. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mandosmiley.gif
