Hello: I am replacing the bridge on my Morgan Monroe F-style mando. My question concerns the depth of the string grooves. I cannot find any info on how deep the grooves should be in the compensated bridge. I believe the solid strings should be level with the top of the bridge but I am not sure how much the wound strings should be exposed above the top of the bridge. Any help and suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks. Ron

For both the solid and the wound stings the grooves need to be deep enough to keep the strings from popping out of the groove. Full depth is more than you need for either the solid our the wound.
Half the diameter is all that is needed. Alittle more won't hurt. With a flat fingerboard, a little lower 0n the wound strings (provided the grooves are done well) will give you an even plain across the top of your strings. Some people like this compared to the slight concave plain you get with all the string slots the same depth. Bryce
