Any repair shops near Yosemite?

Hi folks, I just got a 1917 Gibson A-1 for my birthday, my first real mandolin, and it has developed a top crack about 2" long where the fretboard is attached to the soundboard on the bass side, extending through to the soundhole. I'm trying to avoid a drive to Gryphon in Palo Alto, and was wondering if any qualified luthiers are near Yosemite? Also, do you think shipping an instrument to be repaired is a good alternative? Thanks!

In about 3 weeks the Strawberry Music Festival will get going. Michael Lewis is usually the festival luthier.
I'd give him a call and see if you might be able to have
your mando worked on during the festival. Couldn't do better than that!
