So the far better musician, actually the only musician, in my family is my daughter. She plays a mean piano and folkie guitar and is always covering Norah's tunes from both the first and second albums. I get to noodle around her and once in awhile hit a neat little groove, but I wonder if anyone has ever worked her tunes out? To me they just cry for mandolin fills.

Tom,
I have often thought the same thing when listening to her records. Unfortunately, I can't help you out any. I, like you, just noodle around a bit and that is fun, but I would love to have something to study and work with. I will be following this thread and hopefully someone will help us out. Thanks for asking.

Sheet music is only going to give you the melody and piano accompanyment if your lucky. With a little work you should be able to sound out something close to the melody. Then have your daughter slow down and sound out the chords. Then try to work on some of the parts that are played by the other instruments.

It's worth the effort and gets easier the more you do it.

Good luck.
