I caught him on Letterman Monday night. Nice pairing w/ Kate Winslet, imo.

Just got his new album "Orphans" last week. Wow! Amazing stuff. Tender, bizarre, howling, sublime, funny, iconoclastic. Man, he's got all the bases covered.

I'm really sorry I missed that. Kate Winslet is the only woman on my "free pass from the wife" list!

Yeah it's something else! I think it's one of the best albums I've bought in a long time.

He does an old time song "Two Sisters" (another version of this song was done on Garcia/Grisman's Shady Grove entitled "Wind and Rain") just him and a fiddle player.

But amazing stuff, truly amazing...

He does an old time song "Two Sisters" (another version of this song was done on Garcia/Grisman's Shady Grove entitled "Wind and Rain") just him and a fiddle player.

The (trad.) song originally comes from England in a number of variants;

There's also the title track of the Pentangle's fifth album (1970), Cruel Sister.

And there's "The Bows of London" on the live Life And Limb by Martin Carthy & Dave Swarbrick, with Martin playing mandolin/vocal, Swarb playing fiddle.

Also, title track on Jody Stecher's Oh The Wind and Rain.
