Need Help

Hello everybody, I have only just joined this Cafe as I am interested in the Mandolin. I have had one for around 10 weeks and so far the chords I can play are D G C having a bit of trouble with A and I think its D Major but I absolutely love it. I have looked for some books of Mandolin songs but nobody seems to have them in stock. Hope this does not seem a silly question but if I go to a Guitar site and find the chords there for a song would they be the same chords for the Mandolin and does anybody know of any tuition in the Essex area (England). By guitar chords, you're not refering to fingering, as the guitar has 6 and the mando has 4 strings, but yes, a d chord is a d chord, can be played along with a guitar and will sound nice. There's lots of links on the home page here, I've just given you one, there are lots of others. Browse around, make yourself at home.

I live in the US, so, can't help you with teachers, but check out your local music store, one that sells mandolins, the'll help out.
